Annandale, VA 22003, is a community spanning 7.86 square miles in Fairfax County. Annandale is approximately 13 miles south-west of downtown Washington, DC, and is home to over 14,000 households with a population of over 41,000 residents at the time of the 2010 United States Census.

The Fairfax Cross County Trail extends for 20 miles within Annandale alongside Accotink Creek, and winds its way through parks and forests that are home to deer, fox, geese and many species of native birds. The trail offers uninterrupted biking, hiking, running and, in the winter months, cross-country skiing. In the springtime, anglers are drawn to Accotink Creek as it becomes well stocked with trout.
