Gainesville, VA 20155 & 20156, is a town spanning 10.3 square miles in Prince William County, Northern Virginia. Close to Lake Manassas, Gainesville is approximately 35 miles west of downtown Washington, DC, and is home to roughly 4,000 households with a population of over 11,400 residents at the time of the 2010 United States Census. Replete with cul-de-sacs, housing in Gainesville is comprised of a mix of luxury homes on large land parcels, single-family suburban homes, duplexes, townhomes and apartments.
Gainesville is home to six large shopping centers including the Promenade at Virginia Gateway, Somerset Crossing, and the complex at the intersection of I-66 and Lee Highway (29 Highway) with a Best Buy, DSW, Lowe's, Target Supercenter, and Walgreens, in addition to many other stores and restaurants. A VRE station is slated to open in Gainesville in 2022 which will provide commuter rail transport to nearby Manassas, Fairfax County, and Washington, D.C.
