August 2026 – Supporting Helping Hearts, Caring Souls
On August 12, 2026, the Galaxy Fund was proud to contribute $500 to Helping Hearts, Caring Souls (HHCS), an organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families in underserved communities.
HHCS supports programs focused on healthcare, rehabilitation, education, vocational training, and humanitarian assistance. A special part of their mission is helping individuals with disabilities receive the care, resources, education, and opportunities they need to live with greater independence and dignity.
Their work includes supporting rehabilitation services, providing prosthetics and mobility devices, creating educational opportunities for children with and without disabilities, offering vocational training, and providing essential assistance to families experiencing hardship.
Their mission closely aligns with what we believe at the Galaxy Fund: every person deserves compassion, opportunity, dignity, and someone willing to help when they need it most.
Our $500 contribution may represent one small part of a much larger mission, but we believe meaningful change happens when individuals, businesses, and organizations come together and each do their part.

August 2026 – Helping a Neighbor Find Stability During a Difficult Time
On August 10, 2026, the Galaxy Fund had the opportunity to help a local Woodbridge woman who was facing several life-changing challenges at the same time.
A few years earlier, she had gone through a divorce. She worked hard to raise her two sons and provide a home for them. As her sons got older, circumstances changed and they went to live with their father, leaving her living alone and dealing with an incredibly difficult transition.
Around the same time, she received devastating news: she had been diagnosed with cancer. Her health made it difficult for her to continue working, and without a steady income, the financial pressure of maintaining her townhouse became overwhelming.
She had already rented out the basement of her home to help with expenses, but it was no longer enough. When she reached out for help, we wanted to find a solution that would provide more than temporary financial assistance. We wanted to help create a path toward stability.
Together, we came up with a plan.
If she moved into the basement herself, the upper two levels of her townhouse could be rented out, providing her with rental income to help cover her housing expenses. There was one major challenge—the home needed significant repairs and improvements before it could be rented.
That is where the Galaxy Fund stepped in.
We sent a crew to help move her furniture and belongings from the upper levels into the basement so she wouldn't have to manage the move herself. We then brought in our contractors to complete the necessary repairs, improvements, and remodeling throughout the home to get it ready for a new tenant.
Once the work was completed, our team helped her find a tenant for the upper two levels, creating a source of income that could help her remain in her home while focusing on her health and recovery.
In total, the Galaxy Fund provided $10,905 in financial support toward the work and assistance needed to make this plan possible.
For us, this was about much more than repairing a home.
It was about helping someone in our own Woodbridge community who was facing cancer, financial hardship, and major changes in her family life all at once. Instead of allowing those circumstances to force her out of her home, we were able to use our resources, contractors, and real estate experience to help create a sustainable solution.
Sometimes helping someone isn't just about giving financial assistance. It's about listening to their situation, finding a solution, and using the resources you have to help them regain stability.
Our hope is that she can now focus more of her energy on her health and her future, with less worry about how she will afford to keep a roof over her head.
This is why the Galaxy Fund exists—to be there for members of our community when life becomes overwhelming and to turn compassion into meaningful action.
June 2026 – Helping a Child Receive Urgent Medical Care
At RE/MAX Galaxy, the Galaxy Fund has always had a special focus on helping children and families during moments when they need support the most.
On June 30, 2026, we received an email about a child under the age of 10 who urgently needed knee surgery. The family was facing a difficult situation—the surgery needed to happen quickly, but the financial burden was standing in the way of getting their child the medical care they needed.
When it comes to a child's health, sometimes there simply isn't time to wait.
After learning about the situation, the Galaxy Fund stepped in and provided the financial assistance of $1,500 needed for the surgery, helping the family move forward with their child's treatment without the added worry of how they would afford it.
For us, this is exactly why the Galaxy Fund exists.
A child should be able to focus on healing, growing, playing, and being a kid—not on whether their family can afford the medical care they need.
We may not always know when the next call or email for help will come, but when we have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's life, we want to be there.

June 2026 – Standing With a Family in Their Time of Need
At RE/MAX Galaxy, the Galaxy Fund was created with a simple belief: when a family in our community is facing one of the hardest moments of their life, they should not have to face it alone.
On June 30, 2026, we received a call about a local family experiencing an unimaginable loss. A husband and father had unexpectedly passed away, leaving behind his wife and two children. His wife was a stay-at-home mother with no current source of income, and in the midst of grieving the loss of her husband, she was suddenly faced with the financial responsibility of arranging his funeral and burial.
Because of the family's religious traditions, the burial needed to take place within just two to three days. With very little time available, someone close to the family helped create a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the funeral expenses. The community began helping, but the deadline was quickly approaching and the family was still $5,500 short of what was needed.
That's when the Galaxy Fund stepped in.
The Galaxy Fund covered the remaining $5,500, helping ensure that the family could move forward with the funeral and burial without having to worry about how they would pay for it.
But we knew that writing a check wasn't enough.
Our team worked directly with the funeral home to help coordinate the arrangements and secure a gravesite. Members of our Galaxy family also attended the funeral to stand beside the mother and her children and let them know that their community was there for them.
This is what the Galaxy Fund is about.
Sometimes making a difference means supporting education, helping children pursue opportunities, or giving back through community programs. Other times, it means answering a call when a family suddenly finds themselves facing circumstances they never could have prepared for.
For this mother and her two children, we couldn't take away their loss. But we could make sure they didn't have to carry the financial burden of saying goodbye to their loved one alone.

She now faces life as a single, divorced mother with a young child depending on her, and an elderly mother who needs her care and support.
At the same time, her income stopped.
Every morning, she wakes up carrying the weight of loss, responsibility, and uncertainty. The grief is still raw, but there is no pause button on life. Bills don’t stop. Groceries, mortgage payments, utilities, school needs, and medical expenses continue to pile up — all while she is trying to hold herself together for her child and her mother.

When a family from Murree, Pakistan received the devastating news that their sister had been diagnosed with breast cancer, their world changed overnight. With treatment underway at a military hospital in Rawalpindi, the emotional and financial strain quickly became overwhelming—especially for a family already struggling to make ends meet.
Through the Galaxy Fund, we were able to step in and support this family with $600 toward critical medical expenses, easing an immediate burden so they could focus on what mattered most: healing and hope. What might seem like a small act can mean everything to a family facing uncertainty—and for them, it meant relief, dignity, and renewed strength.

We learned of the heartbreaking passing of little Jad Nabout, a beautiful 2-year-old boy whose innocence, joy, and gentle presence touched everyone who knew him. Jad returned to his Creator after a tragic drowning accident. Out of respect for the family, the details remain private, but the depth of their grief is unimaginable.
Jad leaves behind two young sisters, ages 10 and 7, who cherished him dearly. Their home, once filled with laughter and the sounds of childhood, has fallen painfully silent. No parent should ever bury their child, and no child should lose a beloved sibling so soon. The emotional, spiritual, and financial weight on the family is overwhelming.
As the family struggled to navigate the sudden expenses of a proper Muslim funeral and burial in Orlando, Florida — including ghusl, kafan, janazah arrangements, cemetery fees, transportation, and other critical needs — the Galaxy Fund stepped forward with a $2,858 contribution to help ease their burden during this devastating time.
Our support is not just financial. It is a message to the family that they are not alone. That their community stands with them. That compassion can soften even the heaviest grief.

This October, we were deeply moved by the story of a local family whose journey has been marked by extraordinary strength and struggle. Their younger son, now almost eight years old, was diagnosed with moderate to severe autism at just two and a half. From early childhood, he faced developmental challenges — limited speech, sensory issues, and difficulty eating or communicating his needs. Over the years, he has continued receiving speech, occupational, and physical therapy while attending special education classes in Fairfax County.
Despite their tireless efforts, life has tested this family beyond imagination. The father, once earning about $4,500 to $5,000 a month as a bus driver, now makes closer to $3,500 while working 12-hour days to keep up with rent and bills. The mother, who had been the child’s primary caregiver, battled and survived breast cancer — and suffered two heart attacks, the most recent just six months ago. Their older son also faced cancer in the past, and now the father himself may be confronting serious health concerns.
Through all this, the family has shown remarkable courage and devotion. When we learned that they were seeking hope through a stem cell treatment for their autistic son in Panama — a costly but potentially life-changing opportunity — the Galaxy Fund stepped in with an $11,000 contribution to help make this possible.
For us, this isn’t just a donation — it’s a message of love and unity. It’s a reminder that even in the face of overwhelming hardship, compassion can make miracles happen.

In May 2025, a tragic car accident on I-81 in Botetourt County, Virginia, claimed the lives of two young brothers—a 22-year-old and his 15-year-old sibling. Their vehicle collided with a parked tractor-trailer on the side of the highway, resulting in a loss that devastated their family and community.
During this time of immense sorrow, Galaxy Fund stepped in to offer support where it was most needed. We provided $5,000 in direct assistance to help the grieving family with funeral expenses and urgent financial needs.
While no amount of money can ease the pain of such a heartbreaking loss, we hoped to lift a small part of the burden, allowing the family to focus on healing without the added weight of financial stress.
